About Me

My name is Mike McGarr and I am the Director of DevOps for Blackboard Learn in Washington D.C. I have been developing Java applications since 2001 and I love writing code. My focus over the years has been in helping organizations adopt better software engineering practices.  I have spent most of my time in the Washington D.C. Metro area. I have done nitty gritty development and I have led large software development teams, but all the while I maintained a passion for building software.

I created this blog in the hope of sharing my experiences development software in Java as well as Lean/Agile software development best practices and Continuous Delivery. I hope that my love of writing good code and defining strong repeatable software development best practices comes across in this blog.
